Learn about Ayesha’s Journey in her own words:
With courage and determination, I embarked on a journey of change, leaving my beloved homeland, Saudi Arabia’s serene Madinah, to venture into a new chapter of life in Pakistan. My purpose was clear: to pursue higher education and build a secure future for myself and my family for their unwavering support and immense sacrifice of relocating to Pakistan for my education. Throughout this pursuit, I had one thing in mind, to secure a gold medal in my Pharm-D degree.
With the blessings of Allah SWT and the prayers of my parents, I have finally attained first position with a CGPR of 3.71 in Pharm D. This achievement is a testament and a sweet fruit to the countless hours of hard work, sleepless nights and unwavering dedication invested in my education. It also gives me motivation to further excel in my professional career life too.
This triumph is not just a milestone; it is the foundation for a life filled with purpose and dedication.

EVODIAN WIFE
Balancing Work and Life: A Doctor Mom’s Journey
By Adan Zubair, (Microbiology Resident, Pathology and Lab Medicine Department AKUH) w/o Muhammad Zubair Nawaz (Deputy Manager HRD)
A doctor’s work-life balance is a delicate and intricate interplay between their professional commitments and personal well-being. While the medical field demands unwavering dedication and long hours, maintaining equilibrium between a demanding career and personal life is crucial for one’s overall health and effectiveness.
I often face the challenge of managing unpredictable schedules, emergency calls, and delivering patient care that can extend beyond regular working hours. By effectively managing my time, setting boundaries, and practicing self-care, I ensure that I am not only delivering optimal patient care but also nurturing my own physical and mental well-being. Striking this balance contributes to reduced burnout and enhanced job satisfaction.
Being a mother and a doctor adds an additional layer of complexity to the pursuit of work-life balance. Juggling the responsibilities of parenthood with the demands of a medical career requires exceptional organizational skills, adaptability, and emotional resilience. Motherhood can also foster a deeper understanding of the importance of time management and setting priorities, which can positively influence a doctor’s approach to managing their workload and personal life. However, it’s important to note that being a mother while practicing medicine can also introduce challenges, such as feelings of guilt when having to prioritize work over family or vice versa. Striking the right balance requires effective communication with family, colleagues, and supervisors, as well as finding support systems to ensure that both professional and personal responsibilities are met with dedication and care. Overall, being a mother can provide valuable insights and skills that contribute to a doctor’s ability to navigate the complexities of work-life balance.
Partners in Parenting- Insights from a Super Mom Balancing Work and Life
By Aisha Akhai (Senior Program Manager, Daraz) w/o Muhammad Mateen Shekhani, GPM
As I sit down to share my experiences on managing the delicate balance between motherhood and my career, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible partner I have by my side. Balancing these two precious aspects of my life has been a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and an unwavering bond with my supportive husband.
When our journey into parenthood began, the inevitable questions about how we would manage it all arose. How would we ensure that our children receive the love, attention, and care they need while also nurturing our own professional aspirations? The answer, I’ve come to realize, lies in the strength of our partnership.
From the early days of sleepless nights and endless diaper changes, my husband and I made a conscious decision to approach parenting as a team effort. We shared responsibilities and established open lines of communication to ensure that neither of us felt overwhelmed. This approach allowed me to continue pursuing my career while knowing that our children were in the best hands possible.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned throughout this journey is the importance of setting boundaries. Establishing a clear line between work and family time has been essential in maintaining a sense of balance.
We tend to prioritize quality family moments, whether it’s a cozy dinner together, a fun weekend outing, or simply engaging in meaningful conversations. By committing to these moments, we create lasting memories that fortify our family bond.
Flexibility has also been a key element in our work-life equilibrium. Both my husband and I understand that unexpected challenges can arise, be it a sick child or a work deadline. We support each other by stepping in when needed, adapting our schedules to accommodate the unforeseen, and always remaining adaptable. This flexibility has not only allowed me to meet my professional commitments but has also reinforced the strength of our partnership.
Our journey is a testament to the power of teamwork, open communication, and a shared commitment to fostering a harmonious work-life balance.
Thank you for allowing me to share a glimpse of my life as a working mother. May our stories continue to inspire and encourage each of you in your own unique journeys.
